2007 Mobilizer Awards Nominations Now Closed
The Mobile Enterprise Mobilizer Awards honor the best deployments of mobile technology across more than a dozen vertical markets, and it's our great pleasure to recognize these achievements annually.
This year, we're thrilled to announce that the Mobilizer Awards will celebrate the best mobile deployments in the following categories:
For outstanding mobile deployments in industries such as utilities, repair, scheduling and dispatch, etc.
Customer Relationship Management
For outstanding mobile deployments that support the work of mobile professionals such as sales representatives, and others who spend as much time en route as behind a desk.
For outstanding mobile deployments in industries such as delivery, shipping, warehousing and all elements of the supply chain.
For outstanding mobile deployments on campus environments such as hospitals, schools, corporate campuses, retail environments, etc.
For mobile deployments that make innovative use of the latest technologies to efficiently and effectively meet current needs, anticipate future scenarios and raise the bar on the competition.
In each category a Winner and two Honorable Mentions will be selected by the Mobile Enterprise editorial staff, its Editorial Advisory Board and its Research Advisory Board. Please make sure that all entries clearly target one of these categories.
The 2007 Mobilizer Awards winners will be featured in the November 2007 issue of Mobile Enterprise magazine, as well as on www.MobileEnterpriseMag.com. They'll also be celebrated and officially presented their awards at the Mobilizer Awards Banquet during the Mobile Enterprise Executive Summit (MEES) in Miami, Florida, November 6-9.
Any organization that has deployed a solution within the last year, primarily to improve the work processes of its mobile employees, is eligible. Entries from all vertical markets are welcome, including public and government agencies. Entries must be submitted by an end-user organization. However, developers, vendors, resellers or integrators of mobile technology solutions may submit nominations on behalf of their customers.
All entrants must be approved by the end-user/customer for publication in Mobile Enterprise magazine. Entrants should be aware that the winning deployments will be featured in articles that will require interviews and discussions of corporate information. Winners will also be asked to supply a high-resolution (300 dpi) photograph depicting their deployment, which will be published alongside the article.
To maintain the relative sanity of our staff, please read and follow these guidelines:
Please only submit mobile deployments that use commercial products and/or services that will be available in the United States by the entry deadline.
Please do not submit mobile deployments that began prior to April 1, 2006.
Please do not submit mobile deployments that are still in the pilot stage and have not been fully deployed.
Deployments that have already been covered in Mobile Enterprise ARE eligible.
All information is subject to verification. Falsified entries will be disqualified.
Entrants are allowed to enter in as many categories as they wish, but each entry should be submitted separately.
The judges' decisions are final.
The number of finalists and/or awards given in any category will be determined by the judges based on the number and quality of entries received.
Submissions become the property of Mobile Enterprise and will not be returned.
Mobile Enterprise and other properties of the Mobile Enterprise Media Group of Edgell Communications reserve the right to use any information submitted in the awards application for promotional material, including magazine and Web site copy, to promote or report on the Mobilizer Awards program.

And now for the juicy stuff
Please remember that all we have to go by is the information you provide us, so tell us a good story! That said, this portion should not exceed 2,000 words. Also, when referring to devices or solutions, please be as specific as possible (e.g., HP iPAQ 6900w, not PDA; Verizon EV-DO wireless network, not cell network).
Background: Describe the end user and the vertical market(s) served. How long has the company been in business? How has it changed over the years? What business process(es) was it hoping to improve with the deployment in question?
Stages of Deployment: Who was involved in selecting the solution(s)? What factors went into the decision-making process? What stages were involved in the deployment? What training was necessary? How was it provided? Please be as specific as possible.
Improvements: How did the deployment succeed in achieving the company's goals? What were the costs of implementing the program and when was ROI met? Provide numbers where appropriate and be as specific as possible. Some other areas to consider include efficiency, reduced paperwork, increased sales/service calls, improved customer service and allocation of resources.
Unique Qualities: Was this the first time that a particular product had been used to achieve this type of solution? Did the end-user have to work with several vendors in achieving the solution? How did they overcome unexpected difficulties? Was this solution a fix for a previously attempted implementation? If so, how were the lessons learned from the original attempt applied to this deployment? Did this deployment affect corporate entities other than just the mobile workforce? Any great details you're dying to include? Include them here.
Do not send any artwork with initial entry. Mobile Enterprise will notify the contact person listed on this form to coordinate artwork as needed. However, please be prepared to provide corporate logos and end-user photos of the device/software, etc., as appropriate and photos of the end-user's field force at work.
