Sales force automation (SFA) solution provider Dovarri now offers ACTout!, a toolkit that allows enterprises to seamlessly transfer ACT’s contact manage-ment database into Dovarri’s SFA solution. The SFA solution is designed to assist sales professionals in the field, enabling them to prospect, qualify and close deals on mobile or desktop browsers, with or without Internet access. Price: Free for Dovarri customers.

ALK Technologies’ CoPilot Truck/Laptop 4 is designed for professional drivers and trucking operations. It is loaded with advanced map data and uses GPS to track progress and provide clear and accurate spoken turn-by-turn directions to any destination. The navigation and route guidance system includes new features such as 3D map display, auto-zoom, Type-Ahead to make address entry easy, map turn arrows that illustrate upcoming turns, night mode that reduces glare and eye strain, speed warnings, exportable state mileage reports and fuel cost wizard. Price: $299 to $429.

Back Up into the Ether

FilesAnywhere offers Web-based, remote backup accounts with 100 MB to 5 GB of storage space. Multi-user storage plans are also available. An easy-to-use Web interface and fast performance with unlimited bandwidth make this service convenient to use. Guest File Share and Dropbox link features enable guests to upload and download files via an encrypted e-mail link. Other features include scheduled backup, folder synchronization, network drive letter access and FTP access. Price: Varies with plan.

No Constrictions Here

EZQuest’s Boa Slim external DVD+/-RW optical drive is a portable read and write CD and DVD drive that is both PC and Mac compatible. It weighs just under a pound, is slightly larger than two CD jewel cases stacked on top of each other and comes with an aluminum case. Connect the Boa Slim using FireWire, USB or mini USB, with write speeds of 8x for DVD+/-R, 4x for DVD+/-RW and 24x for CD-RW. Price: $319.

Developed to provide diagnostic monitoring services for wireless users and providers, SBS Link Patrol is an online tool that diagnoses wireless communication systems and sends an alarm when problems arise. The application offers the ability to diagnose link issues by localizing problems as they occur and dispatching help directly to the problem site. Link Patrol monitors environmental factors such as system temperature and packet error trend lines to predict impending system problems. Price: $1,200 for setup, $150 per month.

Serving Services

NetCRM, a service edition to NetSuite’s CRM module, is a hosted CRM application that focuses on selling services rather than products. It enables mobile workers to view and share real-time data, provides project tracking, client self-service center and document management in addition to the standard CRM functionality such as marketing management, client support and opportunity management. Price: $79 per month.

All-in-One Tough Cookie

The MT300 from MP2 is a combination barcode scanner, printer, magnetic strip reader and rugged handheld running Windows Mobile Pocket PC. It counts among its features a continuous battery life of 10 to 12 hours, integrated WWAN and WLAN radios and an optional mobile suite of applications that includes inventory management, delivery confirmation and point of sale. Price: Ranges from $999 to $1,899.
