Wavelink Acquires AirPrism, Furthering its Integrated Mobility Management and Security Strategy

Kirkland, Wash. -- October 12, 2004 -- Wavelink Corporation, a leading provider of mobile infrastructure management software for the enterprise, today announced a definitive agreement to acquire AirPrism, a provider of advanced mobile device management and security software. The acquisition furthers Wavelink’s integrated mobility management strategy and leadership in delivering the industry’s most comprehensive multi-vendor wireless network and device management solution. With AirPrism technologies, Wavelink’s partners and customers will benefit from new management and security solutions across a wide range of wireless-enabled computers, handheld devices and machines.

IDC estimates that, by 2007, shipments of wireless enabled devices will total 77 million, 28 million in enterprise class devices. The proliferation of wireless devices in the enterprise presents a host of new management and security challenges for IT administrators. Through the acquisition of AirPrism, Wavelink will advance its wireless management solutions to enable enterprises to effectively deploy, manage, maintain and secure increasingly complex wireless networks.

Wavelink will integrate AirPrism’s leading edge technologies into its current product line including self-healing and diagnostics, mobile data security, continuous management, asset management and tracking, software distribution, mobile data recovery and backup, and bandwidth optimizations.
